1. Private Messaging: In the center navigation link is a choice called "You have no new messages". Use this feature to share personal contact information you do not want on the open forum (phone numbers, e-mail addresses, addresses). As an example, in the Volunteer or Ad section, you might want to say "Please PM me for details." instead of listing your phone number and e-mail address.
2. Polls: Polls may be used to decide conflicting dates, menus, etc. Please remember though that not all BCHU members access the Internet and use this board. Please remember to include them in your poll!
3. Uploading pictures: There is a thread in the rule section for uploading pictures. Just please remember to make your pictures SMALL so people on dial-up modems can enjoy the forum also.
4. Avatars You can add an avatar (small picture by your name) in your profile (located in upper link area). Please make sure your avatar is no larger then 80 x 80 pixels, so it does not distort the bulletin board.
5. Smilies Smilies are emoticons that you can add to your message. They are available by just clicking on them (on the left).
If you need help with your avatar, you can e-mail me the picture you want for your avatar and I'll size it and upload it for you. Don't forget to send me your username, so I post your avatar to the right person!!

I just want you to note that is an open forum. It is open to the public and anyone can read it. This includes "e-mail farmers," who search boards for addresses.
To protect yourself, ONLY give your correct e-mail address in PM. Otherwise substitute "(at)" for the "@" sign in addresses published on the forum, as I have done.
